you are my hiding place and my shield; i hope in your word. psalm 119:114
where we hide is where we put the hope of safety. God is fully trustworthy to keep us safe, yet we often hide behind finite people, try to fix it ourselves or simply numb the pain, hurt and attack.
the Lord is my protector; he is my strong fortress. psalm 18:2
but the Lord is faithful, and he will strengthen you and protect you from the evil one. 2 thessalonians 3:3
deliver me from my enemies, o God; be my fortress against those who are attacking me. psalm 59:1
whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. psalm 91:1
you only need a shield and the sword, God’s word, if you are in a battle. The only hope we have in the midst of spiritual warfare is in the finished work of Jesus and allowing God’s nature to protect us, cover us and fight for us.
