as it is written: “none is righteous, no, not one; [romans 3:10]
there is an overwhelming truth of WHO we are without the redeeming work of Jesus.
please let your heart soak in this truth. do not speed read through this scripture. ask the Spirit to let you move slowly through these words from the LORD as listen to his voice.
none is righteous [romans 3:10]
and you were dead in the trespasses and sins [ephesians 2:1]
(you) were by nature children of wrath, like the rest of mankind [ephesians 2:3]
darkened in their understanding, alienated from the life of God [ephesians 4:18]
sin came into the world through one man, and death through sin, and so death spread to all men because all sinned [romans 5:12]
therefore, as one trespass led to condemnation for all men, … for as by the one man’s disobedience the many were made sinners. [romans 5:18-19]
for i know that nothing good dwells in me, that is, in my flesh. [romans 7:18]
For the mind that is set on the flesh is hostile to God. [romans 8:7]
behold, i was brought forth in iniquity, and in sin did my mother conceive me. [psalm 51:5]
no one living is righteous before you. [psalm 143:2]
the heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately sick; jeremiah 17:9]
for the desires of the flesh are against the Spirit [galatians 5:17]
the overwhelming truth is – without Jesus our nature is not right before God and even more – is against God.
o how we need to hear this truth and even more. may it cause our view and worship of Jesus to grow!
wretched man that i am! who will deliver me from this body of death? thanks be to God through Jesus Christ our Lord! [romans 7:24-25]
our sin nature is more depraved and corrupt than we truly know. the word of our God makes this clear.
but the work of Jesus is more powerful to fully redeem and restore us from this nature than we ever dared imagine!
today – ask the LORD to increase your view of Jesus!
today – may this greater view of Jesus cause a great response in worship!
what does heart need to, long to tell the LORD right now in response?
he is waiting and longing to hear your praise.
