o foolish galatians! who has bewitched you? [galatians 3:1a]

i often feel foolish.

i often act foolish.

but, rarely am i called – a fool!

paul, through the Spirit, is not demeaning the galatians (you and i) here, but he is stating clearly the condition of the heart. they have been fooled (tricked, deceived, bewitched) and are acting the fool. so, he rightly calls them (us) a fool.

maybe you don’t see yourself as a fool today. and maybe you are not. may you heart clearly sees all the truths of the gospel and faiths Jesus, entrusts yourself to Jesus and all he provides through his work. but, i know me. i can be a fool when it comes to seeing truth, hearing truth – then not trusting truth. today, God has convicted me of this very thing.

i am a born sinner. (ps 51:5).

yet, i am a redeemer sinner. (rom 6:23)

and everyday, there is a battle between the old self (sinful, fleshly) and the new self (Jesus-bought, Spirit-filled, God the Father-loved). everyday, you and i submit to the Spirit with us, we step further and further away from “foolishness” and walk further and further into Truth. everyday, you and i walk in our own self, own will, old flesh – we believe lies are truth and truth are lies. crazy.

may the passage below breath life into your soul today.

may it nourish and feed you.

may it rip scales of deceit off of your eyes.

may it walk you deeper into Truth – who is Jesus.

read, hear his voice, he is with you!

wretched man that I am! who will deliver me from this body of death? thanks be to God through Jesus Christ our Lord! there is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. for the law of the Spirit of life has set you free in Christ Jesus from the law of sin and death. [romans 7:24 – 8:2]
