the Holy Spirit builds unified gospel community
just as the Holy Spirit unified people from different regions through giving the gift of tongues at pentecost, he unifies believers of different backgrounds, personalities, and preferences. the Spirit’s central goal in this time is to point towards Christ and his finished work on the cross, and as God’s people walk in step with the Spirit, the thing they have in common is Christ. all other things become secondary. is it not putin bother things before Christ that causes strife in the church?
Holy Spirit, unify us in pursuit of God’s glory, according to the gospel of Jesus Christ. teach us to repent of that which we put in the place of Christ, so that we may be unified in our service to you.
