[3] he restores my soul. he leads me in paths of righteousness for his name’s sake. [4] even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, i will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me. [psalm 23:3-4]
our Lord is a God of promise who fulfills his word through the person and work of Jesus Christ.
[20] for all of God’s promises have been fulfilled in Christ with a resounding “yes!” [2 cor 1:20]
every promise – every word God has ever spoke to us has been fulfilled in the life, person, and work of Jesus. and, this truth includes the promises here in psalm 23.
today,
- look and see the promises spoken to you in this passage,
- ask the Lord to help you see the meaning of the promise, (God’s heart, God’s provision) and –
- ask the Lord how this promise is yours in the person and power of Jesus.
