for the word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing to the division of soul and of spirit, of joints and of marrow, and discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart. [hebrews 4:12]
God is alive.
therefore …
God’s word – his voice – is living and active.
God’s word pursues.
God’s word comes to us.
God’s word moves in us – cutting and piercing and revealing.
God’s living word – discerns our thoughts.
God’s active word – knows the intentions of our heart.
God’s living and active word – reveals you before God and yourself.
you cannot hide before God.
in Christ, the good news is – you don’t need to hide – because he has you covered!
in Christ, who is the living WORD of God, …
… you are exposed and covered,
… you are fully known and fully loved,
… you will be pierced and you will be healed,
… you will be found out and given grace,
… you will be called to death and given life,
today,
as you read the word of God below –
let the word, the living voice of God –
see in,
reach in,
speak in,
and heal within.
come Lord, Jesus, come!
since then we have a great high priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus, the Son of God, let us hold fast our confession. for we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but one who in every respect has been tempted as we are, yet without sin. let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need. [hebrews 4:14-16]
