because your steadfast love is better than life,

o Lord – we confess, there are many things we often consider better in this life than you and your steadfast love.
(spend a moment in confession – what have you considered better than the Lord and his steadfast love?)
o Lord, we confess, we often have a death grip on this life. we fear what we could lose because we are not quite sure it is better than you and your steadfast love.
o Lord, hear our confession and now o Lord – turn our eyes, our heart, our desires – to you!
increase our hunger for you!
increase our longing for you!
increase our want for you!
increase our taste for you!
increase our soul’s believe that you satisfy above all things!
and, fill us with the joy of your presence now!
o Lord, as we sit in your presence – may our lips declare your praise!
(spend the rest of your time – praising him – for who he is, what he has done, and what he will do today!)
