therefore, my beloved brothers, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing they in the Lord your labor is not in vain. [1 corinthians 15:58]
in the Lord your labor is not in vain.
how often do you feel like your work is for nothing? how often does the fruit fail to come? how does that affect your steadfastness? scripture promises that it is not in vain. we are called to labor as unto the Lord. He is the one responsible for growing the fruit, and we may not always be around to see its effects.
Lord, teach us to trust in you for the fruit of our labor, and teach us to truly labor for your sake, rather than for the sake of ourselves or the fruit. we are unworthy servants; send us where you like, and help us when our steadfastness runs dry.
