we know that our old self was crucified with him in order that the body of sin might be brought to nothing, so that we would no longer be enslaved to sin. [romans 6:6]

if you have been saved by the blood of Christ, praise the Lord,
your old self has been crucified with Christ! do not believe the lies of the enemy that make you think you need to defend your old self, that some part of your old self is beyond God’s redemption, or that God cannot make you new; he already has! we live in the “already” and the “not yet”…the work has already been done, and we can see it being done as we are sanctified.
Lord, give us hearts to rejoice in what you have done! teach us to walk according to the Spirit, and not deny in our hearts that our old self has been crucified with Christ. grow our identity in you and what you have accomplished, and decrease our identity in us and our sinful flesh. it is only by your power that we are brought to repentance and sanctification; and on that power we shall depend.
