to whom be the glory forever and ever. amen. [galatians 1:5]

o Lord, our Lord, how majestic is your name in all the earth! you have set your glory above the heavens. when i look at your heavens, the work of your fingers, the moon and stars, which you have set in place, what is man that you are mindful of him, and the son of man that you care for him? [psalm 8:1, 3-4]

how great is our God! i love the language of psalm 8—who are we that God is mindful of us? when we worship “in spirit and in truth” we are reminded of God’s greatness and our smallness. oh grace, precious grace that God saw fit to draw me to him! what incredible mercy, that He could overlook my sins to punish his son in my place!

bless the Lord, o my soul, and all that is within me, bless his holy name! bless the Lord, o my soul, and forget not all his benefits, who forgives all your iniquity, who heals all your diseases, who redeems your life from the pit, who crowns you with steadfast love and mercy, who satisfies you with good so that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s. [psalm 103:1-5]
