they draw near who persecute me with evil purpose; they are far from your law. but you are near, o Lord, and all your commandments are true. [psalm 119:150–151]

near

far

which of these describes your intimacy with the Lord?

God’s word tells us that evil is always seeking a way to “draw near”. it is always pressing toward you to get close, to get intimate with your heart, your mind.

God’s word also tells us that the Lord is near to those who are his. near.

the enemy is trying to draw near … the Lord is near.

big difference.

the question is not the position of the Lord to you. if you are the Lord’s son or daughter by the blood of Jesus, the Spirit of God resides in you. you are his holy temple. you are his dwelling place. he is near to you! the Lord is near but you and i still are called to draw near to him.

let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need. [heb 4:16]

today

right now

he is near

in the name of Jesus

draw near!
