incline my heart to your testimonies and not to selfish gain! [psalm 119:36]

there is a choice you and i will make today.

we will chose to submit to God and his ways. asking him, begging him to turn or “incline” our hearts to him, to his voice, to his ways, to his “testimonies.” we will submit our heart to the Lord.

or, we will chose to submit our heart to everything and everyone – including our flesh. we will ignore his voice and run after what pleases us. failing to realize the way of our flesh, the way of this world – is the way of the enemy that leads to death.

there is a way that seems right to a man, but its end is the way to death. [prov 14:12]

there is a choice you and i will make today.

o LORD, come now and win the battle for my heart today. my flesh longs to pursue everything but you. it lies, it deceives, and makes me believe i will hurt no one today in seeking self. o LORD, help me see truth, your truth. help me long for you. “incline my heart to you, and not to selfish gain.” i submit to you. come LORD. i want to believe and see that your beauty, your power, your life is best! i want to believe and see you are the greatest of all, the highest love, the most glorious! incline my heart LORD to you! in Jesus name, amen!

[5] the Lord is my chosen portion and my cup; you hold my lot. [6] the lines have fallen for me in pleasant places; indeed, i have a beautiful inheritance. [7] i bless the Lord who gives me counsel; in the night also my heart instructs me. [8] i have set the Lord always before me; because he is at my right hand, i shall not be shaken.

[9] therefore my heart is glad, and my whole being rejoices; my flesh also dwells secure.[10] for you will not abandon my soul to sheol, or let your holy one see corruption. [11] you make known to me the path of life; in your presence there is fullness of joy; at your right hand are pleasures forevermore. [psalm 16:5-11]
