when here signifies the order of events. first, the Lord enlarges our heart then we can follow and obey him.
he doesn’t physically enlarge our hearts but rather enlarges our whole being. he enlarges our capacity beyond what we are capable of by ourselves. he leads and guides us. he moves in power.
now to him who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to the power at work within us. ephesians 3:20
only then can we truly do what He has called us to do, not when we first run in the way of His commandments. if we don’t know first who He is or what His commandments even are then how can we live in them… much less run in them?
