to what do you cling? your comforts, your job, your family? the last line gives some help in diagnosing this: the last time you felt truly, painfully ashamed, what made you feel that way?
Lord, teach us to cling only to you and your testimonies. we desire to lay all we have at your feet! we are your servants, and all we have is yours. draw us to your word, and teach us to hold dear your testimonies, above all else. open our hearts to see that which we cling to at the sake of our dependence on you. we desire to choose the way of faithfulness; illuminate our path!
