and in the same region there were shepherds out in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night. and an angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were filled with great fear. [luke 2:8-9]
LORD,
we thank you for reaching down to us – for pursuing us – for coming to us.
we thank you for coming to the lowly shepherds – to the lowly of this earth – to the lowly like us.
we watch as the shepherds were filled with awe and fear by your great glory.
may we be filled with awe and fear by your great glory.
let us worship the one whose glory, whose very radiance and being brings awe and fear to every man low or great.
we worship you o great and holy God for reaching down to us – for pursuing us – for coming down to us!
let us today worship with all our being – all our heart, soul, mind, and strength,
let us today worship with joy and pursuit,
let us today worship our Savior –
who was the Greatest
and became the lowest
so we could be with God.
