it is time for the Lord to act, for your law has been broken. [psalm 119: 126]
the psalmist speaks boldly to say that it is his time to act, but his heart aligns to God’s heart. he abhors the evil that God abhors. because God is a just God, he acts against what is not of him and his law.
the beauty of the gospel is that Jesus bore God’s wrath against sin and fulfilled the law.
do not think that i have come to abolish the law or the prophets; i have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them. for truly, i say to you, until heaven and earth pass away, not an iota, not a dot, will pass from the law until all is accomplished. [matthew 5:17-18]
