you spurn all who go astray from your statutes, for their cunning is in vain. [119:118]

LORD,

you are holy and righteous and a God of justice. you judge wickedness and evil – you cannot passover those who go astray from your statutes and are never forgiven. you will judge, you have to judge, to uphold your holy name that is defamed by sin.

may this truth move our heart to those who are NOT living in your forgiveness by the power and work of Jesus Christ your Son! may we be staggered in grief at the reality of eternal judgement. may we be undone to the very core of our heart. for when “you spurn all who go astray from your statues” – your “spurning”  is painful, is eternal and most of all it is away from your presence! (matthew 25:41, 46)

may this truth move us to pray, to beg you to save, and stir us to speak of the gospel of Jesus Christ which alone can save. please, LORD – stir us to pray! please, LORD – stir us to speak your gospel! please, LORD – save!

in Jesus name – amen!
