how sweet are your words to my taste, sweeter than honey to my mouth. [psalm 119:103]
when we think of God’s words… His voice… His scripture other than life-giving, abundant and healing, we miss out on the sweetness of the gospel.
“and I have come down to deliver them out of the hand of the Egyptians and to bring them up out of that land to a good and broad land, a land flowing with milk and honey…” exodus 3:8
when God described the promise land that he had for the israelites, it wasn’t one with just milk and honey.
where there is honey, there are bees. where there are bees, there is an abundance of thriving plants and fruit.
where there is milk, there is a multitude of healthy livestock.
his words are not those of condemnation and shame in which you need to work hard to read more and do better…be better. that only leaves a bitter taste on your lips.
