i will never forget your precepts, for by them you have given me life. [psalm 119:93]

we have been given life by the word of God! so much to celebrate here! we, who were once dead in our trespasses and sins, are made alive together with Christ. we who denied our Creator, and turned our worship toward other things, were given new eyes to see Him, a new mind to know Him, and a new heart to love Him. thanks be to God for this mercy and grace.

but still we forget… prone to wander, so easily distracted, so easily lured toward the path that is easy and wide. our flesh wages war against our spirit. so how do we “never forget” the precepts of the Lord? we remember. again and again and again, we remember. in the morning, we search His word, and we remember who He is. through the day, we look at Christ, and we remember what He has done. at night, we look back at who we once were, and we remember all the Spirit has shown us. we continually taste the life that God has given us by continually putting it in our mouths. by continually turning toward it. we remember that it is sweet. we remember that it satisfies, and by these graces of remembrance, God will keep us in Christ until our last breath, and for all eternity.

Father, remind me of your steadfast love toward me that you’ve shown in Christ. you did not spare Him, and with Him, you give me everything i need. remind me of your goodness in all things. remind me of the joy of your salvation. please, God, show me your glory. amen.
