the God and Father of the Lord Jesus, he who is blessed forever, knows that I am not lying. at damascus, the governor under king aretas was guarding the city of damascus in order to seize me, but i was let down in a basket through a window in the wall and escaped his hands. [2 corinthians 11:31-33]

paul again emphasizes that he is telling them the truth from all of the hardship that he has endured the he has listed in the passages before. God knew, even if they didn’t fully believe him. God was there from the very beginning with him in damascus during one of his first persecutions.

“when many days had passed, the jews plotted to kill him, but their plot became known to saul. they were watching the gates day and night in order to kill him, but his disciples took him by night and let him down through an opening in the wall, lowering him in a basket.” acts 9:23-25

often radical obedience to the Lord seems crazy to others. it seems crazy to your parents. it seems crazy to your coworkers. it seems crazy to your unbelieving friend.

it might seem crazy to leave a stable career and raise your family in ecuador doing missions.

it seems crazy to get married at 21 years old.

it seems crazy to be a single foster mom.

it seems crazy to sell everything you have and give it away.

he’s the only one whose opinion matters. he knows the depth of your heart and delights in you as a son or daughter of the king, bringing him glory.
