[18] all this is from God, who through Christ reconciled us to himself and gave us the ministry of reconciliation; [19] that is, in Christ God was reconciling the world to himself, not counting their trespasses against them, and entrusting to us the message of reconciliation. [20] therefore, we are ambassadors for Christ, God making his appeal through us. We implore you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God. [21] for our sake he made him to be sin who knew no sin, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.

[2 cor 5:18-21]

God wants you. he has given you the ministry of reconciliation, God has given us the task of telling everyone what he is doing, so that by our example we might bring others to him. this is a gift and a responsibility. God has called us to preach the message of reconciliation. God reconciled us to himself, gave us the ministry of reconciliation, reconciled the world to himself, entrusting us.

as you read these verses look to the work of God, how he is the actor, the initiator, the instigator, the worker. we are the ambassadors. commissioned for his special assignment, representing the one who sent us, and wielding the power and authority of the one who sent us. this is an ongoing job for as long as we are on this earth.

as you draw into the presence of God today, I beg you to sit in awe of a God who pursues you. the God of the universe not only pursues you but then includes you within his plan. God does not need you, instead he has gifted you with the chance to be part of his ministry of reconciliation to himself.

“in this i feel a reverent compassion for God. must he beseech a rebel to be forgiven? angels, do you hear it? he who is the king of kings veils his sovereignty and stoops to beseeching his creature to be reconciled to him!” – charles spurgeon

oh i pray that today you are draw into his presence in worship, in thanksgiving. the God of the universe has chosen you. he pursued you. he gave you a mission. take time today to think upon all that God has gifted you with by giving you a part of his mission.
