paul, an apostle of Christ Jesus by the will of God according to the promise of the life that is in Christ Jesus, [2 tim 1:1]

there are very few promises in this world. we are not promised our jobs, our relationships, or our lives. jobs come and go, neighbors come and go, lives are born and others die. that is our day to day normal. then the abnormal happens in the form of a world-wide pandemic. all of the “normal” has ceased to be. everything is abnormal. life has changed.

“the promise of the life that is in Christ Jesus.” there is one thing that has never changed and will never change: the life that is in Christ Jesus. what is this life?

  • Jesus redeems our life from all our sin and failure and gives us new life. [gal 3:13, 4:5, titus 2:14, heb 9:15]
  • Jesus restores our life transforming all that is broken in us into his image. [rom 12:1-2, 2 cor 3:18, 1 pet 5:10]
  • Jesus reconciles our life back to him, so we can be with him. [2 cor 5:18, col 1:20, 1 pet 3:18]

because of the work of Jesus has done on our behalf, we are promised and given so much life. the greatest promise we have is his life with us, in us, forever. this will never change. [john 14:15-17]

today, anchor into these promises. before you read, spend a few minutes asking God to let you experience the greatest promise – that he is with you! after you pray, spend time in the verses above and believe and embrace that God is with you, even now – God is with you!
