“but for ours also. it will be counted to us who believe in him who raised from the dead Jesus our Lord,” — [romans 4:24]
Jesus is raised from the dead!
death is final, and it is unavoidable.
we don’t often spend much time considering death, but from the moment we are conceived, we begin our march towards death.
as we walk this earth, apart from Christ, our one hope is to live whatever life we can and make the best of it until our appointment with death.
yet..
in Jesus we have the is one documented, factual, historical occurrence of a person who was fully, undeniably dead and was raised back to life by God Himself. Jesus brought others back from death (lazurus, jairus’s daughter), but these people indeed died again. their resurrection was temporary.
paul tells us here that when we believe, when we place our faith in Jesus, believing in His resurrection, our faith is counted to us as righteousness!
we have hope and salvation by grace alone through faith alone! Nothing can separate us from the love of God, and because Christ rose from the dead, we have the eternal hope that we too shall join Him in a life after death. We will have a place in eternity not becuase of anything we have done, but because we have faith. because we believe.
there can be no doubt that the resurrection is a defining event in all of human history. it is true that Jesus, who was fully man and fully God, was resurrected from the dead. there can be no greater act of love – no greater event in history than this.
in Christ we are free. in Christ we are saved, we have hope, and we are granted the righteousness of God.
praise God for His miraculous love for us, and His gift of righteousness that is ours when we believe!
