for the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who by their unrighteousness suppress the truth. [romans 1:18]
do you only worship God for the pleasant things he gives you?
worship is never about what pleases self.
worship is about pleasing the Lord.
worship is about giving him all of yourself – because he gave all of himself – to spare you from his wrath and bring you to himself.
we need to worship all of who God is.
we worship him for being perfect love, grace, and peace.
but we also must worship him for being perfect truth, justice, and wrath.
because he is holy – he can just have wrath for all sin.
if he does not – he is not holy.
today – do not create a god to worship made in an image that pleases you. this is idolatry
if you have – repent of this. confess this idolatry to him. and plead to see and worship him fully.
his love – given to you in Christ’s life, death, and resurrection – gives you full forgiveness and acceptance.
today – worship the God who gave up his son – to justly satisfy his wrath. Jesus took his father’s full justice – so the father could give you his full mercy. worship the true God. worship him for all he is.
take a moment and declare who he is. (read ps 36 if you need a place to help kick start your praise.)
every truth about him that comes to mind – declare it.
worship him for who he is.
and may your affection for him grow as you do.
