paul, an apostle of Christ Jesus by the will of God, and timothy our brother, to the church of God that is at corinth, with all the saints who are in the whole of achaia:                 [2 corinthians 1:1]

by the will of God,” – what a powerful statement.

imagine being able to walk in the confidence that you are being who God called you to be and doing what God called you to do because it is “the will of God“!  truth, you don’t have to imagine, you can know. all of these scriptures tell us that which you are and do can be fully known as being done by “the will of God“.

but to all who did receive him, who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God, who were born, not of blood nor of the will of the flesh nor of the will of man, but of God. [john 1:12-13]

do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect. [romans 12:2]

look carefully then how you walk, not as unwise but as wise, making the best use of the time, because the days are evil. therefore do not be foolish, but understand what the will of the Lord is. and do not get drunk with wine, for that is debauchery, but be filled with the Spirit, [eph 5:15-18]

for this is the will of God, your sanctification: that you abstain from sexual immorality; that each one of you know how to control his own body in holiness and honor, not in the passion of lust like the gentiles who do not know God; [1 thess 4:3-5]

give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you. [1 thess 5:18]

for this is the will of God, that by doing good you should put to silence the ignorance of foolish people. live as people who are free, not using your freedom as a cover-up for evil, but living as servants of God. [1 pet 2:15-16]

since therefore Christ suffered in the flesh, arm yourselves with the same way of thinking, for whoever has suffered in the flesh has ceased from sin, so as to live for the rest of the time in the flesh no longer for human passions but for the will of God. [1 pet 4:1-2]

o son and daughter of the Living God, you can know that who you are and what you do IS by the will of God. these are but seven of hundreds of passages that declare to us the will of God. you can know you are living in the will of God in who you are and what you do – but there is one condition. you must be in the Word and more, the Word must be in you.

i can’t tell you how many times i have cried out to the LORD, “please, tell me what your will is.” and the truth, i cried out these prayers without saturating my heart and mind in the Word. i did not saturate my prayers, my conversations, and my thoughts in the Word. rather, i begged for God’s revelation while i ignored the revelation of his will through his Word.

how many times have you cried out, “LORD, please …”

today, as you cry out, saturate your prayers in the Word. saturate you pleas to the Spirit in the Word. saturate your conversations with others in the Word. saturate your thoughts in the Word. and then, wait. wait on the Spirit to guide you into all truth. [john 16:13]

come LORD and fill my heart and my mind with YOUR words. saturate my thoughts, my prayers, my conversations today with your Word while i seek to live and walk in your will. for the glory and fame of Jesus in whose name i pray – amen!
