he shall judge between the nations,

and shall decide disputes for many peoples;

and they shall beat their swords into plowshares,

and their spears into pruning hooks;

nation shall not lift up sword against nation,

neither shall they learn war anymore.

[isaiah 2:4]

when the King of kings fully establishes his reign –

there will be no more wars between nations or in our hearts.

what a day, when peace will fill the land and fill our hearts.

what a day, when joy will be throughout the land and throughout our hearts.

what a day, when love will reign over the land and reign in our hearts.

what a day … when we will not have to hope expectantly for what is to come; rather, we will live in the reality of our hope fulfilled in our King Jesus’ reign.

what a day!

but in this moment – we live in the now – but not yet.

one day we will fully know peace, joy, and love face to face with our Lord. but for now, we can know his peace, joy, and love because we have a real and expectant hope through the Spirit.

today, let’s pray into that hope and ask God to increase –

our peace,

our joy, and

our love

in his presence.

let’s pray …

may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope. [romans 15:13]
