the word of God leads to action
based on the Spirit’s inspiration of prophecy, the disciples act upon it. this is how God’s word consistently works: hearing from him necessitates either obedience or disobedience. how often do we tend God’s word—his commands—as merely a voice in the wind not directed at us? God is relational, and he is speaking—how do you respond when you hear?
Lord, thank you for giving us your word, and your persistent personal relationship with your people. forgive us for hearing and failing to act in obedience—give us strength to obey, in thankfulness for who you are and what you’ve done!
