oh sing to the Lord a new song, for he has done marvelous things! his right hand and his holy arm have worked salvation for him. the Lord has made known his salvation; he has revealed his righteousness in the sight of the nations. he has remembered his steadfast love and faithfulness to the house of israel. all the ends of the earth have seen the salvation of our God. [psalm 98:1-3]

when was the last time you busted out in a song of worship – loud, joyful, without holding anything back?

at the birth of your child…

at the salvation of your mom…

at the healing of your friend…

at the reconciliation of your marriage…

at the start of a new adventure called marriage …

at tasting the forgiveness of God – again ….

at seeing the ocean waves crashing over and over and over …

at watching the lightning and wind and rain display the glory of God …

at hearing the Spirit speak – in a still small voice in the middle of work …

at the end of your rope, when you couldn’t go on – and then the Lord came …

when was the last time you worshipped without any dignity or care what others thought?

creation does it every day – and it has not been forgiven and redeemed.

today, let this be your day you bust out in song …

  • because you were dead and are now alive.
  • because you were lost and are now found,
  • because you were an orphan and now you are adopted,
  • because you were in the kingdom of darkness and now you are in the kingdom of light,
  • because you were under God’s wrath and now you are under his covering,
  • because you were captive to sin and now you have been set free in the Spirit.

today, you have plenty of reasons to worship. read ephesians ch 1 – if you need to be stirred more.

today, worship, out loud, without reservation, without holding back – for your Lord is worthy!
